Chairman encourages public input on possible public transportation expansion
Effingham County has been approached with the possibility of incorporating Shelby, Moultrie, Christian, Montgomery, Clay and Fayette Counties into Effingham County’s Public Transportation program.
County Board Chairman, Josh Douthit, is encouraging the public to attend one of three meetings the board will be hosting with this topic on the agenda.
- Administrative Committee meeting scheduled Monday, May 11, 2026 at 2pm
- Transportation & Infrastructure Committee meeting scheduled Tuesday, May 12, 2026 at 8:30am
- County Board meeting scheduled Monday, May 18, 2026 at 4pm.
Chairman Douthit hopes to have public input to assist the board in weighing any advantages and/or disadvantages that the public may see in possible incorporation of transportation programming.
