🐾 Help Wanted: Animal Control Officer 🐾 Effingham County Animal Control is seeking a compassionate and reliable Animal Control Officer to join our team!
This part-time position combines office duties with field training in animal control. The officer must be on call one weekend per month and one to two weekdays per week, plus occasional holiday shifts—so it’s essential that you live in or near Effingham County to ensure timely responses. 💰 Pay Rate: $17.47 per hour In accordance with Illinois labor law, the pay rate for this part-time position is listed based on the current Effingham County salary schedule.
Requirements:
● Resident of or live near Effingham County (on-call responsiveness is critical)
● 18 years of age or older
● High school diploma or GED
● Valid driver’s license
● Clean criminal record (background check required)
● Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
● Comfortable using computers and social media
● Strong phone etiquette and communication skills
● Organized and detail-oriented with file management
● Willing to learn and carry out animal control tasks
● Genuine love for animals! 🐶🐱
