Governor Pritzker signs Gubernatorial Disaster Proclamation declaring Effingham County a disaster
On Tuesday, June 30, 2026, Governor JB Pritzker signed a Gubernatorial Disaster Proclamation declaring Effingham County, among ten other counties, a disaster due to impacts from severe weather and an EF-3 tornado causing significant damage for multiple residences, farms and property.
Other counties included in the declaration were Kankakee, Stephenson, Winnebago, McLean, Cook, LaSalle, Woodford, Coles, Warren, and Jefferson counties affected by severe weather in the months of March, April, May, June for 2026.
