Job Description:
MAINTENANCE/CUSTODIAL POSITION
A full-time Maintenance/Custodial position is open in the Effingham County Sheriff’s Office. Interested individuals should have light construction skills, basic plumbing, electrical, and janitorial skills. Some heavy lifting is required.

This position currently pays $26.13 an hour, and works four ten-hour days through the week, with limited emergency call-in during weekends and Holidays. The position includes paid Holidays, Vacation, and a clothing allowance. The position also participates in an IMRF pension program. Those who apply must consent to an in-depth background check before being hired.
We need someone who likes to work as a team member while sometimes tackling construction and mechanical problems. We also need someone who takes pride in our facilities and will complete basic cleaning and janitorial work on a daily basis, while representing the County of Effingham and the Sheriff’s Office to the public in a positive manner.
